System performance of a split-type unit having R-22 and R-407C as working fluids

摘要

In this study, a drop-in system performance comparison of refrigerants R-22 and R-407C is reported. The test conditions include standard rating condition, overload condition, and low-temperature condition. It is found that the cooling capacity of R-407C is about 3% lower than that of the R-22 system, and the coefficient of performance (COP) for the R-407C system is 4% lower than that of the R-22 system. Meanwhile, the drop-in test results show that the condensing pressure for R-407C is 200 to 300 kPa higher than that of R-22.
