Scheduling value-based transactions in distributed real-time database systems

摘要

In a distributed real-time database system (RTDBS), a remote transaction usually accesses some data locate at remote sites. However, traditional real-time schedulers do not consider the impact of communication delay for transferring remote data and results in high MissRatio for remote transactions. To reduce the MissRatio and lessen the "time-wasting" due to communication delay for a remote transaction, a new real-time scheduler called Flexible High Reward (FHR) is proposed. The simulation results show that the FHR outperforms current real-time schedulers such as Earliest Deadline (ED), High Value (HV) and Highest Reward and Urgency (HRU).
