Infrared matrix-isolation spectroscopy using pulsed deposition of p-H2

摘要

A pulsed-deposition method was employed to produce p-H2 matrix samples suitable for IR absorption measurements. The temperature of the target can be as high as 5.5 K during deposition; a pumped liquid-helium crystal at 2.5 K becomes thereby replaceable with a commercial closed-cycle refrigerator. This method for preparation of matrix samples was more versatile than the enclosed-cell method and can prepare samples at a greater concentration.
