Employing concepts of electronic performance support systems and design-based research, this study developed a ubiquitous performance support system for teachers (UPSST) and implemented it in a school setting. Two teachers participated in this study and data were collected from observation, interviews and system logs. The findings confirm the usability and effectiveness of the UPSST. For example, the teachers could improve both their communication with parents and students and could strengthen the specific evidence of the communication. However, due to factors including equipment issues, personal concerns and former work habits, the participants did not seamlessly incorporate the system into their daily work.
