VLSI opto-electronic array processor for morphological image processing

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to design a high-speed opto-electronic array processor which implements morphological processing algorithms that take focal-plane images and transform them to a set of features which are suitable for high-level intelligent information processing such as pattern recognition.
