Abstract

The dependence of the threshold pump power on wavelength was investigated for a multi-wavelength array of photonic crystal lasers. The temperature dependence of the lasers was characterized. The effects of operating temperature on the operating wavelength and the threshold pump power were also investigated. The study demonstrated that the lasing threshold pump powers of the membrane photonic crystal defect lasers have a strong dependence on their substrate temperature above room temperature.
