Abstract

The hybrid self-organization map (SOM) and radial basis function (RBF) network approach is proposed in this study for forecasting the interval cycle time of each job in a wafer fabrication factory (wafer fab), which is a critical task to the wafer fab. For evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, production simulation is also applied in this study to generate some test data. According to experimental results, the proposed methodology did improve the accuracy of interval cycle time forecasting considerably.
