Abstract

The most important observation that can be made from this study is the significant impact of including hydraulic uncertainty on storm sewer design. Using a nonparametric approach analysing hydraulic uncertainty leads to the use of significantly larger pipes and steeper pipe gradient. This could be attributed to the fact that flow capacity constraint a use high values of safety margins simultaneously in both hydrologic and hydraulic uncertainty analysis.
