Single mode operation of integrated photonic crystal nanocavity coupled surface emitting lasers

Abstract

We demonstrate integrated surface emitting lasers with coupled photonic crystal nanocavities. Single mode emission with high Q factors was obtained with electrical pumping. Dual wavelength emission from two side-by-side photonic crystal nanocavities was also demonstrated.
