Sensorless control for DC inverter-FED compressors

Abstract

DC inverter-fed compressors possess higher operating efficiency than the conventional compressors with induction motor. However, the position sensor of the rotor with permanent magnet cannot work well in hermetic type of the compressor. Thus, a sensorless controller for DC compressors is developed and put into practice in this paper. It includes the starting strategy and sensoriess control algorithms both implemented digitally in MCU board, meanwhile, the test results has been presented.
