Abstract

Several novel fluorosulfide and fluorooxysulfide phosphors, Ce 3+-activated Y2(Ca, Sr)F4S2, α-and β-YSF, and Y3S2OF3 have been synthesizedand luminescence was investigated. Fluorosulfide-based phosphors can be excited by blue light and shows yellow-to-orange and red broadband emissions, respectively. Progress on the synthesis and luminescence of these phosphors is discussed.
