Abstract

Absorption spectra of excimer states of 9,10-dichloroanthracene (9,10-DCA) and 9,10-dibromoanthracene (9,10-DBA) microcrystals were measured and their formation was confirmed to take place within a few ps after excitation by picosecond diffuse reflectance laser photolysis method. Excimer states in 9,10-DCA and 9,10-DBA microcrystals reflect the difference in the geometrical structure of the excimers.
