Abstract

A self-Q-switched mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser with 500-kHz low mode-locking repetition-rate and peculiar self-similar-like optical spectrum has been experimentally demonstrated. This new operation state may be useful for generating high-peak-power pulses from Erdoped fiber lasers.
