P-155: Luminescent efficiency enhancement of polymer light-emitting diodes using solution-processible metal nanoparticles incorporated nanocomposites

Abstract

A hole-injection-layer in PLED with a plasmonic metal nanostructure was demonstrated. The device with Au nanoparticles-incorporated PEDOT:PSS layer revealed a 3.3x increase in maximum power efficiency. Particle sizes and spacer film thicknesses are carefully selected according to the optical model by exact electrodynamical theory; the nanocompostie layer remarkably enhanced the EL intensity of devices about 2.5x.
