An approach for optimal constructions of space-time codes over multiple fading blocks was described. The space-time codes whose rate and transmit diversity gain simultaneously meet this optimal rate-diversity tradeoff are termed optimal space-time codes. It was observed that the constructions can be used for any number of transmit antennas. It was shown that the matrix is modeled as independent, zero-mean, complex Gaussian random variables with unit variances.
