Abstract

The GaAs/GaAlAs quantum wells with a skinny barrier at the center of the well were investigated systematically by optical spectroscopy. The feasibility to tune the intersubband separation using this skinny barrier was demonstrated. In addition, detailed studies were performed to investigate the alternation of the transition sequence for the heavy hole and light hole excitons.
