Novel direct emission backlight system of 4-view time-multiplexed 3D display

Abstract

In the time-multiplexed 3D display, the novel direct emission backlight is more suitable than the side emission backlight for large size panels. Additionally, the time-multiplexed 3D display offers multiple views with full resolution and unchanged brightness. In this paper, a novel direct emission backlight with four light sources is utilized. The optimal parameters for reducing average crosstalk and difference between peak intensity of each view will also be given.
