Abstract

A noise analysis is developed applicable, to any space-time soliton propagation problem perturbed by spatially uncorrelated white or nonwhite noise sources. It leads to particularly simple expressions for the variances of inner products of the pulse with weighting functions. The method is applied to the evaluation of the effect of filters on the Gordon-Haus effect of amplified soliton propagation.
