Abstract

In this paper, we disclosed the realization of a nano-structured alignment patterning for thin film Pancharatnam-Berry phase (PBP) diffractive lens by the use of polarized light converter technology. High optical quality switchable liquid crystal PBP lens with F number of 20, a diffraction efficiency of 93 % at 532 nm wavelength, with a low operating voltage of 5 V and a switching response time of 8 ms has been demonstrated.
