Abstract

The need for a variety of suitable detection techniques has induced many researchers to develop detectors for highperformance liquid chromatography (HPLC) (1–3), We have developed a fluorescence windowless flow cell by using a laser as the excitation source (4) and, more recently, we have evaluated the performance of a multiwavelength fluorescence detector by using a xenon lamp (5). The aim of the present work was to evaluate the capability of an extremely simple fluorescence detector based upon a commercial, inexpensive, low dead volume chromatographic tee.
