Localized surface plasmon mediated luminescent enhancement of polymer LEDs using nanocomposite hole-injection layer

Abstract

A hole-injection-layer in PLED with a plasmonic metallix nanostructure was demonstrated. The device with Au nanoparticles-incorporated PEDOT:PSS layer revealed a 3.3x increase in maximum power efficiency. Particle sizes and spacer film thicknesses are carefully selected according to the optical model by exact electrodynamical method. The nanocompostie layer remarkably enhanced the EL intensity of devices about 2.5x.
