Abstract

The excited-state kinetics of meso-bis[l-(2-pyrenyl)ethyl] ether is reinvestigated in isooctane. With the use of nonstationary fluorescence techniques, kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of intramolecular excimer formation are obtained, and the existence of two conformers in the ground state of this compound is demonstrated.
