Innovative design of a slim type DVD spindle motor

Abstract

A slim type single-phase brushless spindle motor with innovative design has been developed for application in DVD driving system. By reshaping the stator configuration and shifting the Hall element position, the performance of spindle motor has been improved. In our research this innovative design has been successfully demonstrated for use in slim-type DVD application.
