Abstract

Improvement in performance of fibre wireless systems using a semiconductor laser amplifier is experimentally demonstrated. The presented approach improves receiver sensitivity by over 4.5dB by increasing the depth of optical modulation. The approach can support long-distance fibre-wireless systems.
