Abstract

This paper provides the comparison of the impact of inactivity timer on energy consumption of Mobile Station between WCDMA and cdma2000. Both simulation and analysis are utilized to investigate the impact of inactivity timer and the performance comparison between WCDMA and cdma2000. The novel and practical models proposed in this paper analyze and quantify the energy consumption in the case of bursty and streaming traffic. In this paper, the analytic models are verified by simulation extensively.
