Holographic direct view system with 4K2K LCOS SLM and LED reconstruction light source

Abstract

Instead of using laser as light source to generate hologram, light- emitting diode (LED) was used together with 4K2K liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) panel to reconstruct LED light and enter computer generated hologram to LCOS panel, to generate interface pattern. Near eye holographic display is produced with off axis optical structure. 4K2K panel diffraction efficiency comparison between LED and laser is also measured.
