Abstract

A condition for the GAS performance of a class of second-order systems is first presented if the weighting parameters of the performance index have been selected. Next, when the weighting parameters are tunable, the globally asymptotically Stable (GAS) performance is shown to be always achievable. The lower bound of the ratio was explicitly provided and can be determined in advance. Moreover, when the system has a constraint on the control magnitude, an estimation of region of attraction is also provided to ensure the success of the control mission.
