Abstract

A report on the fluid detection photonic crystal-based multichannel waveguides was presented. The photonic crystal waveguide sensor was made from a GaAs-based heterostructure. The detection scheme was designed to distinguish between isopropanol and xylene. The angular geometry was chosen to eliminate a direct beam path between light that was not coupled to the waveguide and the detector.
