Flexible liquid crystal film using continuous process

Abstract

We have developed flexible liquid crystal (LC) films including micro-cell LC film and polymer network liquid crystal (PNLC) film by using continuous process. A high-contrast micro-cell LC film shows high mechanical stability and has a strong potential as a high-performance flexible device. Moreover, we have demonstrated the low driving voltage PNLC film, which also shows the characteristics of light weight, thin size and high impact resistance. The manufacture process has the advantages of low cost and high throughput with the integrated continuous process.
