Finite element analyses of steel beam to concrete-filled circular steel tube column connections

Abstract

The behavior of connections between steel beam and concrete-filled circular steel tube column was analyzed. The finite element analysis method was employed for the analysis. The analysis showed that large diameter-thickness ratio of the tube results in high potential distortion of the tube wall that leads to the premature failure of the joints.
