Film-like liquid crystal display using ultra-flexible substrates

Abstract

Based on polymer/ liquid crystal phase separation mechanism and release process, a novel film-like liquid crystal display (FLLCD) was developed. The ultra-flexible film-like substrates and cubic lattice structures had provided a good flexible, mechanistic property as well as the characteristic for roll-to-roll fabrication process. Morphology and electro-optical properties of FFLCD have been carefully investigated. Sandwiched FLLCD film with release layer could be peeled off and passed onto flat substrate and/or electrode layer.
