Fabrication of fiber Bragg gratings by sequential UV-writing with real- time interferometric side-diffraction position monitoring

Abstract

We present two real-time fiber position monitoring methods for sequentail Fiber-Bragg-Grating UVwriting process. Before writing every grating section, the just-exposed grating section or the reference fiber grating is probed by an interferometric side-diffraction method to measure the grating phase as position reference.
