Abstract

New excited singlet-singlet (Sn-S1) absorption spectra were observed in the case of TCNB complexes with benzene, toluene as well as mesitylene, pyromellitic dianhydride-toluene complex and p-dicyanobenzeneα-methylnapththalene complex at room temperature. All spectra can be well reproduced by a superposition of the bands of the acceptor anion and the donor dimer cation. The fluorescent state of these systems is deemed to be a 1:2 (D+2A) complex.
