Dynamic Characteristics of a Polygon Motor Affected by Profiles of Rotor Magnet

Abstract

The jitter and the wobble of polygon motor used In a laser printer are Important factors to control the printing quality. The rotor magnet used In the polygon motor was magnetized with three different magnetic field profile.For small values of jitter and wobble, the magnetic field distribution of rotor magnet with square-wave Is very suitable for the application of a polygon motor. For a 8-pole rotor magnet with maximum magnetic field strength about 1200 G, the average Jitter and wobble of the polygon motor are about 0.0149% and 13.02 arc-sec respectively.
