Dipolar dibenzothiophene S,S-dioxide derivatives containing diarylamine: Materials for single-layer organic light-emitting devices

Abstract

A convenient synthesis of dipolar compounds with a dibenzothiopene-S,S- dioxide core and two peripheral arylamines, is developed. The dibenzothiopene-S,S-dioxide appeared to have better balance of electron- and hole- transport properties as compared to other thiopene-S,S-dioxide and benzothiopene-S,S-dioxide derivatives. This compounds exhibit intriguing ambipolar carrier transport properties and can be used to fabricate single-layered EL devices possessing excellent performance. This synthesis process could be used in future studies including modification of peripheral arylamines and spacers for emissive materials with non-dispersive ambipolar carrier-transport character.
