Abstract

Crystal growth of glycine was accelerated just by focusing a CW 1064-nm laser beam at a position adjacent to a spontaneously generated glycine crystal in D 2O. Its rate depended on the distance between the crystal and the focal spot. Interesting crystal growth and dissolution were found, which is considered to be due to Ostwald ripening.
