Color optimization model for color-controlled backlight system in high dynamic range LCD-TVs

Abstract

The high dynamic range liquid crystal display (HDR-LCD) can enhance contrast ratio and reduce power consumption using color locally dimming technology. In conventional liquid crystal compensation algorithms, only the brightness was considered to maintain brightness for intensity backlight system. However the phenomena of color shift would occur seriously in color-controlled backlight system. We proposed a suitable liquid crystal algorithm to achieve accurate color reproduction in color dimming backlight.
