Abstract

High repetition rate ultra-short optical pulse trains from an asynchronous rational harmonic modelocked (ARHML) Er-fiber laser are experimentally demonstrated and studied. This new laser exhibits obvious advantages of pulse amplitude equalization when compared to conventional rational harmonic mode-locked fiber lasers.
