Abstract

The Ce3+ Eu2+ codoped Ba2 Zn S3 phosphor shows intense blue absorption and tunable green-to-red emission. The energy transfer from Ce3+ to Eu2+ in this phosphor has been demonstrated to be a resonant type via an electric dipole-dipole mechanism. The Ba2 Zn S3: Ce3+, Eu2+ phosphor would be the great potential application as a blue radiation-converting phosphor for white light-emitting diodes.
