Angular and field dependent magnetoresistance in Ni80Fe20 zigzag wires

Abstract

The angular dependence of the magneto-resistance in Ni80Fe20 zigzag wires with fixed and varied pitch lengths has been studied at a temperature of 10 K. The magneto-resistance ratio due to the transformation from multi-domains to single-domain of the samples is estimated to be 1.0×10-3. We have experimentally shown that the shape anisotropy and the magnetization processes can be controlled by the wire geometry and the orientation between the sample and the applied magnetic field.
