Abstract

Homogeneously filled and dielectric-loaded rectangular hard-walled waveguides were investigated adopting both theoretical and numerical approaches. As such, the QW-3D simulation software was used to obtain numerical values of the attenuation and phase constants, which were verified with theoretical predictions. The accuracy and reliability of this software in determining these values were substantiated, thus permitting its future application on complicated waveguide geometries that cannot be analyzed theoretically.
