Abstract
Sol-gel assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry was used for the analysis of small organics. A sol-gel derivative was prepared by reacting with various concentrations of the 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB) in the sol-gel solution. It was observed that the laser desorption/ionization mass spectra of prometryn and prometon desorbed from the sol-gel derived DHB film. It was also found that the molecular of these two ions dominated the mass spectra, whereas no any matrix ions are observed in the low mass range.
