Abstract
This study proposes a method for resolving the problem of corner contouring errors in precision motion control system. In the proposed approach, the accuracy of the path command is improved by integrating the acceleration/deceleration prior to interpolation (ADPI) technique with a feedrate control scheme which ensures that the corner contouring error is less than a specified permissible value. The proposed control scheme is implemented using the Windows XP operating system and the RTX 6.0 real-time extension subsystem. The experimental results confirm that the proposed control scheme provides an enhanced precision accuracy compared to the conventional acceleration/deceleration following interpolation (ADFI) technique.
