Abstract

A 1×1 thermo-optic polymer waveguide switch based on a S-shaped multi-mode interference (MMI) waveguide structure was presented. The device has advantages like shorter device length, low cross-talk, wide bandwidth, low polarization dependence, low heating power. Results showed that the process tolerance of the device was larger and switching time was 6.5 ms.
