Abstract

A novel design of broadband and broadside circularly polarized rhombic slot antenna with omnidirectional radiation, fed by a single coplanar waveguide (CPW), is proposed and experimentally studied. Left-hand circularly polarized (LHCP) radiation is achieved by both protruding a metallic mono-strip from the right corner of the/ rhombic ground plane into the slot center and feeding a 50-ω CPW with a protruded single strip from the down side. Experimental results show that the bandwidths of return' loss and 3dB axial-ratio can reach as large as 62% and 32.4%, respectively. Details bf the experimental results are presented and discussed.
