A magnetic design for a slim type DVD actuator

Abstract

An optimum magnetic design for a slim type CD/DVD actuator using computer aided design tools was proposed. Resonance frequency of the lens holder and the magnetic field strength were analyzed using finite element method tools. Optimal design with largest mean value was found to be the best, when the mean value and uniformity were taken into account.
