A K-band ultra-compact transformer combined power amplifier with total chip size 0.2 mm 2 in 0.18-um CMOS process

Abstract

A fully integrated K-band transformer combined power amplifier was designed and fabricated in 0.18-um CMOS technology. The circuit design and layout arrangement are elaborately planned to achieve 0.2 mm 2 occupation chip size with the acceptable power performance. To the best of the author's knowledge, this work has the smallest chip size among the reported 0.18-um CMOS K-band power amplifier.
