Abstract

3-bit/symbol optical modulation scheme is proposed using dark-return-to-zero (DRZ), differential-phase-shift-keying (DPSK) and polarization-shirt-keying (PolSK). Transmission performance of the 3×10Gb/s signal is investigated.
