Abstract
This paper deals with DOA estimation based on the modified fast independent component analysis (FastICA) technique with robust capabilities. The proposed method with linear generalized circular-type array manifold model can mitigate estimate sensitivity to unknown additive colored non-Gaussian noise for local scattered CDMA signals. ICA utilizes an approximation of negentropy based on the maximum entropy principle to measure non-Gaussianity of the data sequences. Several computer simulation results demonstrate the proposed method significantly outperforms MUSIC and signal subspace-based sequential one-dimensional searching methods under the scenario of low signal-to-noise ratio and colored non-Gaussian noise.
