Abstract

This paper proposes a gray level determination of liquid crystal and backlight (LC/BL) tosuppress color breakup (CBU) infield color sequential technique of LCD. Classified determination and backlight type with associated controlling backlight improves dynamic image quality and reduces CBU effect. Besides, the proposed Multi-LC/BL algorithm adoptively selects an adequate mode according to the image data. In other words, the scope of CBU suppression of Multi-LC/BL algorithm is more extensive than other conventional field color sequential techniques.
